Refund policy
Our Refunds and Returns Policy
At Bonza Dog Treats, we want you to shop with confidence. Our Refunds and Returns Policy explains how we handle exchanges, replacements, and refunds for our 100% natural dog treats. Because each treat is unique in size, colour and smell, some variations are to be expected — but if you ever receive a defective or incorrect item, we’ll work with you to make it right. Please read the details below so you know exactly how our returns and refunds work.
Natural Treat Variations (Size, Colour & Odour)
Our treats are 100% natural. Each treat is unique and will vary slightly from the pictures shown, sometimes in size and sometimes colour and therefore returns or refunds based on different sized/colour items are not accepted. Natural treats can be odorous; returns or refunds based solely upon odour are not accepted.
Defective or Incorrect Items
If there is a defect with the treat, please contact us straight away. Please note that natural treats can sometimes pierce packaging - this is not considered a defect.
If we send you the wrong product, please contact us straight away.
Storage Guidelines for Natural Dog Treats
Please bear in mind that natural treats have no preservatives - treats should be stored in closed containers in a cool environment.
Refunds and Returns for Change of Mind
Defects or incorrect items must be notified within 7 days of receipt. Depending on the particular circumstances, we may replace, refund or provide a store credit.
We are more than happy to work with our customers, however we do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind or the product being different to customers expectations. See our note below about bugs.
A Special Word About Bugs (Hide Beetles & Storage Tips)
Hide Beetles have a nose for our natural goodies! These little explorers can nibble through thin plastic, slip through tiny holes made by pointy treats and also fly. They lay eggs, which hatch into larvae in just a few days. They then transform into beetles in as little as 35 days. To keep them at bay, always keep your treats sealed up and ideally not in an open spot. Storing in a hard plastic container with moisture absorbers is ideal. Keep a close eye on your stash, too. If you ever suspect a hide beetle infestation, toss the product in the deep freeze for 48 -72 hours – whilst they aren't nice to have around, they aren't harmful either. We can't lend a paw with hide beetle issues if it's been more than 30 days since we dispatched your order, as any trouble before that should be pretty noticeable by then. During the summer months and in periods of high humidity beetles are more active and the life cycle is shorter.
Ants and Your Delivery
Ants are naturally drawn to our products. While we guarantee our treats are ant-free when they leave our paws, sometimes they can find their way in once it's at your doorstep. Unfortunately, we don't provide refunds or returns for ant encounters unless it's a 100% occurred in transit. If postie left your parcel and ants crawled in to check out the treats, we don't refund. Ants are not venomous, and they usually scurry off when disturbed. But if they're being stubborn, you can try giving the treat bag a freeze and a shake to evict them. For good measure, keep some ant spray where you store your dog treats and where postie drops them off, eg front door step, mailbox.
